Maybe someone here can help me. I am a 36 year old woman
who has been suffering from extreme foot pain for over 1.5 years
About five years ago I had a bunion removed from the outside
of my foot, then fractured the area after the pin was removed.
Two years later I had a cyst removed from the same foot that was
applying pressure to a nerve in the foot. Now, for the past 1.5
years I have been experiencing symptoms common to Mortons Neuroma.
In the beginning when I was diagnosed I was given several shots
of cortisone to no avail. I tried magnetic therapy to no avail
and 14 treatments of accupuncture to no avail.

Recently the foot has become very inflammed, very painful and
severely bruised. The second and third toe are effected the most
in this case. The second toe is extremely painful and common xrays
show there is a tight closeness between the second and third toe bones.

My doctor planned surgery but after considering the amount of swelling
thought it best to have an MRI done first. Considerations of stress
fracture were also taken into consideration. The MRI came back with
results of no fracture and no neuroma. Swelling was considerable between
the second and third toe's only. Still the pain from stepping on even
the smallest pebble is present, simple manipulation and stepping is sheer
pain and the bruising is ever present if even only by shadows at times.

I am on anti-inflammatory pills and pain killers and still no answers as
to what this could be. Could the MRI have been taken at a wrong angle to
show a neuroma deeper in my foot, or hidden?

What else could it possibly be????????? Please help.

Leslie
